Your skin is the barrier between your body and the world around you, enduring wear and tear from a multitude of internal and external sources. In fact, age, sun exposure, environmental toxins, poor sleep and nutritional habits, and inadequate hydration can all contribute to facial aging, causing fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss to occur.
Fortunately, there are aesthetic treatments available to help combat these unfortunate signs of aging, including BOTOX® injections and dermal fillers. Schedule an appointment with Pineapple Health-Rejenesis Aesthetics today to discuss your facial rejuvenation needs. Call (480) 961-2366 or contact us online.
BOTOX and Dysport are two forms of botulinum toxin type A which are FDA-approved to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Both injections work to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles and decrease movement. BOTOX treats moderate to severe crow’s feet and frown lines between the eyebrows. Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines.
The main difference between BOTOX and Dysport is that Dysport has a smaller molecule size and is more diluted than BOTOX; this means that Dysport effects are seen more quickly but that more units are often needed to see the same level of results as BOTOX. The type of injection you receive is dependent on the extent of your lines, their location, and the results you desire. Dr. Chan will discuss these options with you at the time of your appointment.
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers help diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness. There are many different types of dermal fillers which target different areas of the face, helping to plump the lips, soften creases and wrinkles, reconstruct contour deformities, and improve the appearance of recessed scars.
Pineapple Health-Rejenesis Aesthetics is proud to offer two industry-leading lines of hyaluronic acid fillers: Juvederm and Restylane.
Juvederm hyaluronic acid fillers are intended for injection into facial tissue or lips to correct wrinkles, folds, and age-related volume loss.
Restylane products, similar to the Juvederm family, are hyaluronic acid fillers injected into facial tissue to address wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.
Your appointment will begin with an examination of the facial skin to examine problematic areas that will be addressed during treatment. Based on these findings, you will receive a recommendation on the dermal filler or botulinum toxin that is most appropriate for your unique needs.
Once a treatment is elected, the area of the face receiving treatment will be cleaned and prepped for injection. A topic anesthetic is used to numb the area and reduce your discomfort; certain dermal fillers have this anesthetic combined with the hyaluronic acid. The actual injection(s) takes only a few minutes; during this time your face is carefully sculpted based on your desired results.
You may experience bruising, redness, or swelling at the injection site following treatment; however, these side effects resolve quickly. A member of the Pineapple Health-Rejenesis Aesthetics will discuss additional side effects and risks with you, in addition to any special instructions regarding healing. Normally, you can resume regular activity immediately following treatment.
The results of BOTOX and dermal fillers will last for several months to years, depending on the drug used and the condition being treated. Ongoing treatments are typically recommended to maintain your results.
If you seek non-surgical options to restore your youthful appearance, dermal fillers and BOTOX injections are excellent options which provide substantial improvements.
